Ride for Ali a Success

Over 300 motorcycles came together in a show of support for our wounded friend, Ali Perez. Ali felt honored to be able to come from his hospital room and see so many people pulling together to benefit he and his family.

The weather was perfect and the ride concluded with a barbeque at the offices of the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association. In addition to the generous ride participants, this benefit was made successful thanks to the many businesses who – without hesitation – contributed products and services to assist in this effort. I would also like to thank the many volunteers who gave selflessly of their time to make this event safe and enjoyable.

I hope you will continue to support the Perez and Johnson families as they continue on the road to recovery.

James Bovet served as the organizer for the 2012 Ride for Ali. He took on this project swiftly following the highly publicized incident and managed to bring together the community in support of Det. Ali Perez.
